Advisory Support for Audit Committees, Supervisory Boards, and Other Ownership Representation Forums Regarding Internal Audit Oversight

In organizations with a well-developed monitoring system, members of ownership representation bodies carry significant responsibility. They must synthesize and evaluate information from various sources to ensure that the organization is effectively managing its emerging risks and staying aligned with its defined strategic objectives.

These bodies often include professionals familiar with the business and operations, but may also include delegates representing the ownership from other fields. Since the information provided by internal audit and internal control functions can sometimes be complex or unclear (for example, it may not be obvious whether a particular incident of misconduct poses a serious threat to the organization), there may be a need — either on an ad hoc basis or regularly (e.g., before each Audit or Supervisory Committee meeting) — for external expert advice to interpret the information and formulate recommendations for further actions.

ABT is ready to support your organization with either one-off consultations or ongoing advisory services. We can assist in interpreting internal audit reports, defining additional review tasks for the internal audit function, and — if needed — we are available before each relevant committee meeting to:

  • Review submitted reports,
  • Highlight key risks,
  • Propose clarifying questions, and
  • Recommend follow-up actions to support informed decision-making.
