Development and Review of Internal Audit Policies and Methodologies

Whether your organization has recently established an internal audit function (or is currently in the process of doing so), or whether the function has been operating in the same form for a long time, there may be a need to develop or review related internal documentation — such as audit methodologies, policies, or the internal audit manual.

This review may also be carried out as part of the External Quality Assessment (QA) recommended by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), which suggests that internal audit functions undergo an external quality review at least every five years.
(More information on this service can be found under Risk Management / Internal Audit Services / External Quality Assessment of the Internal Audit Function.)

However, in some cases a full-scope audit may not be necessary — or a shorter preliminary review may be required in preparation for such an assessment. In either case, ABT is ready to assist you by reviewing or preparing the requested internal audit documentation.
